Detentions have commenced because of activities related to remembrance of Cuba's apostle Jose Marti

(La Habana, Cuba) - Political police forces of the regime of La Habana have commenced on Saturday afternoon, January 19th, to detain and interrogate members of the Democratic Party 30th of November “Frank País”.

Officials from the Department of State Security, known as Tamayo, Gabriel, and Iván have detained and interrogated the following directors and activists of this organization of oppositionists:  Luis Osvaldo Manzaneira Cúcalo, Herrera, Ricardo Ramos Pereira, José Enrique Santana Carreiras and Daisy Chao Santana, which were threatened with imprisonment for the work which they are carrying out as defenders of Human Rights.

These measures are being taken because of the week-long activities which are taking place between the 21st through the 28th, which is being put together by an organization titled "Jornada Martiana, Cultivo una Rosa Blanca”, and because of anti-government signs which have shown up in the Diezmero district, municipality of San Miguel del Padrón.
